Surveys conducted by Educadomo : results !
More than 3000 families regularly call upon the tutoring services of Educadomo. Many of these parents share their experiences with us, adding their voice to discussions over bigger social issues.
This is why our surveys have a double goal : to inform the public of the real situation inside families. And to draw the attention of the decision makers to this state of affairs, so that they can offer some solutions.
Helping with their schoolwork : does it reinforce the parent-child relationship ?
Educadomo receives many testimonials from parents regarding the load represented by helping their children's schoolwork. They come home from work late, have the domestic tasks to fulfill and need on top to also devote time and energy to assist their children with their homework.
Educadomo wanted to know more about this ! this brought us the idea to organize a survey (from December 2008 to January 2009) asking parents 3 main questions :
- What is the effect of this task on the parent-child relationship ?
- How do parents cope with their children's homework ?
- How much time will it take ?
Finding the right balance between a professional career and supporting your children with their homework. Is this possible ?
It is 4pm and you are at work. And there, the stress takes hold of you : will your kids do their homework correctly ? Do they need help ? It seems that a majority of parents are very much involved in giving their children support with their schoolwork and therefore are subject to this stress. We wanted to know more.
Educadomo and Jump have therefore organized a study on this subject, with the support of the State Secretary for Family Policies. The survey about the professional career of the parents versus the monitoring of their children’s schoolwork asked the following questions:
- What is the position of your employer and your colleagues regarding this delicate situation?
- What kind of help do you get from your entourage in order to reach a right balance?
- As an active parent, how do you manage your time? What are your tips and tricks?
